What is the Honeycomb System?
The Honeycomb system is a composite panel technology in which a thin layer of natural stone, such as marble, granite, or quartzite, is bonded onto an aluminum honeycomb core (hence the name “Honeycomb”). This structure enables the creation of panels with high rigidity, but at only a fraction of the weight of solid stone, offering clear mechanical and logistical advantages.
This method is particularly advantageous in applications where load reduction is critical, such as ventilated façades, large surface cladding, ceilings, or custom interior design and furniture elements. The honeycomb structure provides high flexural strength, allowing the use of minimum thicknesses starting at 5 mm, in formats up to 2900 x 1450 mm, without compromising structural integrity.
